How many /dev/fb* can provide Matrox cards?

Postby alexondi » Sat Aug 09, 2008 1:02 pm

I try create application which can work in Linux console with two monitors. I use QtEmbedded and for work I need two framebuffers (/dev/fb0 /dev/fb1).
So, question is:
Which cards of Matrox can do what I need (create more then one /dev/fb)?

The newer Matrox cards (P-series, Parhelia, QID, etc.) don't support framebuffer configurations at all, so you'll have to use an older G-series card (G200, G400, G450, G500, G550).

If the matroxfb kernel module is loaded, there's one /dev/fb* device per head so two framebuffers should be possible with this configuration.
