Screen wall using P-Series and G-Series cards together

Postby ceek » Thu Oct 04, 2007 2:44 am

Just wonder if it is possible to build a screen wall using P-Series and G-Series cards together from the same machine?

I personally own a Pharhelia (and a P650) AGP and a couple of G550 PCI-E and G450 PCI. If I can use P-Series and G-Series cards together then I will get a motherboard which has both AGP and PCI-E slots. Otherwise I will just give up the P-series cards and stick with PCI-E slots only.

I've never tried that on my own, but I think it should be possible.
What might not work is to have OpenGL acceleration on this screens.

Pretty sure it will run in independent mode. But my concern is that I wouldn't run in spanning mode.

Well, that's likely, yes.
As I said, I've never tried this but you might want to ask Matrox Tech support. They should know if their cards will work together.

You're lucky, someone just reported success for such a combination:

So, at least one G450 and a QID are working kind of perfectly together as
a 3x2 screen wall.
