Buying a new card

Postby vadillo » Fri Jun 15, 2007 5:53 pm

I want to buy a new Matrox Card, i have one machine working with a P650 parhellia AGP, but i want to buy a PCIE one with the same features of the P650 parhellia, cos my software works fine on that card. I'm working on Linux doing some computer vision. I also want the multi head capabilities of Matrox , at least 2 monitors independent mode. which card i should buy?

A Parhelia based PCIe card will be just fine. Personally, I'm very satisfied
with the APVe (the only triplehead capable PCIe card from Matrox, currently).

Additionally, it has a Video Input connector.
Regarding the features on Linux: They all are driven by the same driver
and therefore they all are the same.

Extract from Matrox's 1.4.6 readme:

Graphics cards:

- Parhelia
- Millennium P750
- Millennium P690
- Millennium P650
- Parhelia APVe - no video input or video editing support

--> Video Input of Parhelia APVe is not supported yet :-(
