GLXBadFBConfig

Postby frank » Sat May 16, 2009 9:11 pm

Hello,

I recieved this returns from the GL-Apps:

Frank@linux-57dj:~> glxgears
X Error of failed request: GLXBadFBConfig
Major opcode of failed request: 143 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 24 (X_GLXCreateNewContext)
Serial number of failed request: 15
Current serial number in output stream: 16

P650, Suse 11.0, x64, Kernel 2.6.25.

I use your 1.4.6.2. driver, because the official driver has the "Unknown symbol cpu_callout_map"-syndrome. The Symlinks to the GLlibs are created and the splash-screen is blue.
Have you an idea?

Thanks, Frank

Are you using FBDev for your Xserver and the matrox card?

FBDev ist not in use, only the matrox. Could it be the old driver, i used so far the 1.4.6 with 2.6.18 kernel and now the 2.6.25?

Please try to upgrade to the new 1.4.7 driver which you can download directly from the Matrox website.

The new driver has the same effect. After several tests I found the reason for this behavior. Is the color-depth. With 16 bit the error occured, with 24 bit not. BUT, I can see in the glxgears-window only fragments of the gears. I cannot understand this. With the ver. 10.2 of Suse it works and now with the 11.0 no longer. Are so many changes from 2.6.18 to 2.6.25 kernel or is it a matrox problem? Can anybody validate this problem?
