P690 on Fedora Core 10

please forgive me for my bad english. I'm a french people.

I'm trying to compile the official P690 driver on a Fedora Core 10 and the compilation fail with an error.
it seems that the driver does not support the 2.6.27 standard FC10 kernel.

How could I do to get function this card with FC10 ? Is the mtx driver will finction with a 2.6.26 kernel ?

We will have another matrox card (QID) on the same PC. Is the driver will work with the same kernel ?

The official mtx drivers you can download from [http://www.matrox.com] will not work with this kernel version.
Instead, use the one you can find in the download section of this forum or on [http://projects.tuxx-home.at].

These are updated drivers by me that work with recent kernel versions.

Oh, you're right, FC10 also has Xorg 1.5.

Well, I think both statements are true, but the real problem is that distributions include X server versions that aren't even release by now.
Xorg 1.5 is still in beta testing state.

I don't use FC on any of my machines, so I don't know how to do that there.
For Ubuntu/Debian based systems, there's a howto in the following thread:

It's all about "pinning" release versions of packages or using backports in the package management tools, I'm sure that FC resp. rpm supports that too, maybe Google helps out with this one.
