Latest driver version is mtx 1.4.6.2

This forum is for all Parhelia based cards (Millenium P650, P690, P750, QID, Parhelia 256, APVe, ...) that need the mtx driver to run properly.

This is the error message that breaks building.
It means, that the symbolic link mentioned above does not link to the kernel
source directory. This is usually the case when the kernel sources are not
installed on your system.

You may check the target of the symlink with the following command:

Code: Select all
file /lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2944.fc6/build

Usually, the resulting output should be something like "/usr/src/linux-2.6.20-1.2944.fc6".
Check, if this directory exists on your system and if it doesn't, install
the kernel-sources package with the help of your distributions package
management tools.

Afterwards, it should be possible to change into the build directory with
the command `cd` as shown in this example, without an error message
given:

Code: Select all
cd /lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2944.fc6/build

Currently, this is not possible on your system and t
herefore the Makefile
fails.

Thanks for the reply. I have execute the command with the following result:
[root@gre1 ~]# file /lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2944.fc6/build
/lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2944.fc6/build: broken symbolic link to `../../../usr/src/kernels/2.6.20-1.2944.fc6-x86_64'

broken symbolic link

That's what I thought...
Please use the search function within this forum for help on about how to
install the kernel source package or do some googling on this topic.

If you have any further questions, please open up a new topic, as this
topic is meant as an announcement thread and only for bugreports and the
like.

P650 AGP - vanilla-2.6.22-rc2

Hi,

the mtx.ko module compiles without errors :-)

But insertion fails:
baeri ~ # modprobe mtx
FATAL: Error inserting mtx (/lib/modules/2.6.22-rc2/kernel/drivers/mtx.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

dmesg:
mtx: Unknown symbol pci_module_init

Let me know, if I can provide you any more informations.

Do you have an idea (patch) to fix this issue?

Thanks for your time!
