Kernel 2.6.31-14 (Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala)

Postby boynas » Sun Nov 01, 2009 10:06 pm

I've found the following link:

I wanted to share and to publish it here, I haven't tested it. But seems to be working for a lot of people.

I tried the above mentioned steps but the kernel wont compile the module.
/vpnclient/interceptor.c:814: error: invalid operands to binary - (have ‘sk_buff_data_t’ and ‘unsigned char *’)

I'm using 9.10 with kernel 2.6.31-14 , I followed the instructions here:
http://www.painfullscratch.nl/code/vpn/

It compiles, and it installed successfully, it logged in successfully (from the log), but last it freezes my whole system.
My laptop is lennovo T400.
Any clue?

I still have problems with my setup... My netbook though, runs with no problems.

The computer that I am having problems with is a Lenovo thinkpad T61p
It is a dual core, and I am running kernel 2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:05:01 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I tried disabling the second core, I tried all the patches, and I still get my computer kernel panic when using the VPN client. It doesn't matter if is wifi or nic.

At this point I don't know if it is the SMP, 64 bit, network drivers.. It just doesn't work!

Can someone please post a SINGLE, clean patch to the base 4.8.02 Cisco Linux 64-bit VPN client that will work on a 64-bit Intel host and that does not require a new kernel. I believe there is a such a solution among the several threads here but the patches are conflicting.

Thanks.
