vpnclient can not connect to the gateway

Postby nijhawank » Fri Jun 05, 2009 10:36 am

Hi

I have installed vpnclient-linux-x86_64-4.8.02.0030-k9.tar.gz on Ubuntu 9.04 (I guess there's no need of any patch, it installed fine).

Now when I try to connect, it keeps trying to connect to the gateway but can't and finally exits with an error message "Connection Terminated Locally by the Client".

During connect to the gateway, it tried 4 different ip addresses. And all work fine, I tested them using ping.

What could be the problem? I checked the ufw (ubuntu firewall) status which says inactive. I also tried manually flushing / clearing / resetting any iptables rules but in vain.

Please help.

Regards

You could try to run the ipseclogger (part of the Cisco vpn client) to see what's wrong with the connection.
You might also want to try to change the connection method from UDP to TCP or things like that. Does the connection work out on a windows machine?
