Ubuntu 9.04 and G450 dual head

Postby caffeinated sponge » Wed Jul 15, 2009 10:44 am

Hello,

I have read around this thread and understand that the new 1.5 version of X.org in the Jaunty kernel breaks the 4.4.4 driver and so it's not likely to work yet. So far as I can see, Matrox's official driver is also hopelessly out of date.

I do have some functionality: both screens are working... but displaying identical content.

I don't have a level of coding skill sufficient to help much with this, but wondered if anyone knew of any other options to get the second screen working as monitor 2? I'm a relative newcomer to Linux although I've been running 9.04 on an old laptop since it released and used Unix as an engineering student before Windows 95 was dribbled out of Redmond. I've only just put it on my main box...

Thanks i advance for any help anyone can give, and if my (non-programming) help can be any use glad to contribute...

I just got a G200 card working. Maybe this will help you viewtopic.php?f=1&t=797&p=5252#p5252
