G550 - DualHead - Fedora 8

Postby marlboro51 » Fri May 15, 2009 11:48 pm

Hy,
I'm trying lots of things since yesterday but nothing is what i need.
My configuration :
fedora 8
G550 dual (vga and dvi with vga adapter)
first screen : Acer X223H 23" (native resolution : 1920x1080@60)
second screen : Asus VK193D 19" (native resolution : 1440x900@60)

what i try to obtain : wide desktop (xinerama) 1920x1080 and 1440x900

what i get :
xinerama with 1680x1050 (black strip on the left and right border of the screen) and 1440x900
or
xinerama with 1440x900 on both screens

i installed driver 4.4.4 with option --overwrite

my xorg.conf :

first question :
which xorg version is installed ? i thought it was 7.x and see in log 1.3 ? how to be sure to install and use version 7 ?

second question :
i'm not sure about the name of the two screens (0 and 1) : it looks like there is a confusion between them (in my mind maybe).
but i see mga(0) default mode 1440x900 and mga(1) default mode '1920x1080' ? Is it not the opposite on xorg.conf ?

third and last question :
what I made wrong or forgotten ?

If you need more information from error log, ask me, i don't send the entire file that's too big ...

Thanks for your answers...
Olivier

(I hope my english is good enough to be easily understood)
