G200 4-head card, the first head not usable with X

Postby zhangweiwu » Wed Jan 10, 2007 3:31 pm

The G200 4-head card I got shows the below message when I do lspci(1):

02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G200 AGP (rev 03)
02:04.0 Display controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G200 AGP (rev 03)
02:08.0 Display controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G200 AGP (rev 03)
02:0c.0 Display controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G200 AGP (rev 03)

The first head doesn't work with xorg R7.1's mga driver, the rest 3 heads works (with exactly the same configuration). This is rather strange to me.

I'll follow up the detail after rebooted and track this behavior again.

I need to see your xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log file, otherwise I'm unable
to help you.

Please attach (!!) them to your next message (don't post it inline, but attach
them with the Attachment options below the textarea used for writing the
posting).

Hell. Thank you very much for setting up this unofficial forum so us Matrox users can still have community suport. And thank you very much for promptly inform me how to ask a good question! ;) I have done several experiments within the last hours and I think the problem is not simple as I asked in my post so I decide to re-post a new message with better explanation. Please also take a look at my new post when it's done.
